백사마을 × 유리
어쩔수없이 프로젝트는 서울의 마지막 달동네, 백사마을을 유리의 물성을 통해 기록해보는 마을기억 프로젝트다. 깨진 유리가 다시 모여 강해지는 과정은 인간의 삶을 보여준다. 깨지고 붙여지기를 반복하는 우리는 결국 하나로 모여 탄탄한 공동체를 이룬다. 하지만 아파트 주거문화와 개인주의 문화가 강해짐에 따라 견고했던 마을공동체는 해체되며, 새로운 것으로 대체됨을 피할 수 없다. 그럼에도 불구하고 여전히 마을공동체를 지켜내는 이들은 존재한다.
어쩔수없이 거주할 곳을 찾아 모이게 되었고,
어쩔수없이 흩어져야만 했던 백사마을 공동체.
어쩔수없이 문에 사용되어야만 했던 유리와
어쩔수없이 깨짐의 과정을 겪은 그 조각들.
우리는 이들의 모습을 작은 폐유리 조각들이 모여 하나의 견고한 자재로 탄생하는 과정으로 기록해고자 한다. 우리의 프로젝트를 통해 백사마을의 공동체가 다시 한번 공동체 의식을 느끼고그들의 귀소본능이 해소되기를 바란다.
어쩔수없이 project is a village memory project that records the last shanty town of Seoul, Baeksa Village, through the properties of glass. The process of broken glass gathering again and becoming stronger shows human life. We repeatedly break and stick together and form a solid community Eventually. However, as the apartment housing culture and individualistic culture become stronger, the strong village community is dismantled and replaced. Nevertheless, there are people who protect the village community.
We intend to record them as a process of gathering small pieces of waste glass to form a solid material. Through our project, we hope that the community of Baeksa Village will feel a sense of community once again and their homecoming instinct will be resolved.
